PRODUCTION PROCESS:

Pre-Production:
Planning the concept, writing the scripts, scouting locations, coordinating locations ...

After a kick-off meeting, a Draft Script is developed. This Script provides information about the graphics, animation, various camera moves and angles, as well as the actual wording for the professional narrator. Video Scripts are formatted in two columns, with the left side providing the visual information and the right side containing the audio text, music recommendations, additional sound effects, and natural sounds.

After revisions have been incorporated and approved, the Draft Script becomes a Final Script. This Final Script serves as the "road map" for the rest of the video production process. This Script is the most crucial element of the video production process and is a crucial element because all production and post-production services are based solely on this final document.

Production:
Traveling to locations, videotaping, studio productions, interviewing, actors, lighting ...

When the Final Script is approved, a Shooting Script and Call Sheets (if working with talent) are developed, indicating all the visual shots to be taped at each location, the stock footage available for the program, as well as all 2D, 3D, and animated graphic requirements. After these field logs are created and the production logistics are coordinated, shooting begins. Technical personnel on location or in the studio verify the video signal, audio clarity, resolution, and scene composition. Several "takes" are usually shot to cover different angles and approaches.

Post-Production:
Editing the footage, creating graphics and animations, recording voice-overs (VO), duplication, DVDs, web compressions ...

During this phase, the accumulated footage (the footage shot on location or the studio, as well as any stock footage) is edited according to the Final Script. At this time, special effects, animations, computer graphics, character generation (the words on the screen), narration, and music are incorporated. The editing process basically entails "digitizing", or loading, the footage into the computer, creating clips. These clips are positioned and adjusted to optimize pacing and content flow. Once the program is in order, a review copy is made for approval. Changes based on feedback are incorporated and the final program is transferred to a Master. A Master can be in tape format, a DVD, or web compressions.

Water Frog Productions provides research and scriptwriting services for video productions, technical writing for online training and computer based learning, brochure development and layout, as well as creating manuals that accompany video productions.

Field and Studio Production:
Whether your production is in the field or in a studio, Water Frog Productions provides broadcast quality production equipment and technical expertise to meet your project needs.

Graphics and Animation:
Using Boris Red, AfterEffects, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash, and Macromedia Studio, Water Frog Productions creates 2D and 3D graphics and animations for productions, websites, and online training. Our Flash media is SCORM compliant for e-learning.

Editing:
Water Frog Productions works on high end, non-linear editing systems with over a terra-bite and a half worth of external hard drives. This allows us to hold your project without charging extra storage fees or off-lining projects ... saving time and money! We have extensive stock footage, royalty free music, and sound effects libraries.

DVD and Streaming:
Finished programs are delivered in many different formats, but our most popular are DVD and streaming media. Water Frog Productions creates custom menus and labels for DVDs and delivers streaming video in various sizes and format -ranging from QuickTime, Windows Media, and Mpeg to Real Media and Flash.
